1. At malfunction of a chain of a charge of the battery about generator failure it is necessary to do a conclusion only after following checks.
2. Check up a condition and a tension of a belt of the generator. At detection of signs of deterioration a belt replace.
3. Check up an inhaling of bolts of the generator.
4. Check up conducting of the generator and a pressure regulator, reliability of fastening and a condition of sockets.
5. Check up fusible crosspieces and safety locks. At detection перегорания find out the reason and eliminate.
6. Start the engine and check up a sound published by the generator (the howling or squealing sound specifies in deterioration of bearings).
7. Check up electrolit density in the battery. If density low, charge the battery (the given point does not concern unattended batteries).
8. Check up completeness of a charge of the battery (at faulty section of the battery its recharge is possible).
9. Disconnect cables from the battery and clear.
10. Check up work of the relay of a control lamp (on cars with 1980 for 1992 the relay arrangement differs, fig. Installation of the relay of an electric equipment of cars FJ60, fig. Installation of the relay of an electric equipment of cars FJ80 see).
11. Check up pressure on the battery on the idle engine. Pressure should be about 12 Century
12. Start the engine and again check up pressure which should be now from 13,5 to 15,1 Century
13. Include a headlight of headlights. At normal work of system of a charge pressure should fall and again increase.
14. If pressure above normal, replace a pressure regulator (subsection 3.4.11 see).
15. If pressure below normal check up a regulator and the generator, having arrived as follows.
16. Connect to weight conclusion F (1) on a back cover, start the engine, consider pressure on the battery and compare to the standard.
17. If pressure above standard replace a pressure regulator.
18. If pressure below standard check up the generator (or in the absence of the ampermeter hand over in a car-care centre workshop).
19. If there is an ampermeter include it in the gymnastics scheme (see fig. the Scheme for check of a current of a charge of the battery). In the absence of the ampermeter it is possible to take advantage of the current transformer.
20. Finish turns of the engine to 2000 rpm, measure a current at the switched off consumers. Then include a headlight of headlights and the heater fan (the switch establish in position HI). Measure a current and compare to the values resulted in subsection 3.4.1.

21. If the measured current less standard repair or replace the generator.
