3.2.6. Cam-shafts and pushers
THE GENERAL DATA

The prevention

Before performance of works prepare two bolts with a carving 6х1 mm and length 16–20 mm which will be used at dismantling as auxiliary (see more low).


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Uncover heads of cylinders (subsection 3.2.3 see).
2. Establish the piston of 1st cylinder in ВМТ a compression step. Be convinced that dot labels (1) on leading and conducted gear wheels of cam-shafts are combined and located on one line of a parallel demountable plane of a head of cylinders and a cover, and labels (2) are turned every which way. Otherwise check up that with zero division of a scale it is combined risk ВМТ коленвала and turn коленвал on 1 turn.
3. Measure axial люфт each of cam-shafts. If люфт exceeds maximum permissible a cam-shaft and (or) a head of the block of cylinders are subject to replacement.
4. Remove the ignition distributor (subsection 3.4.6 see).
5. Turn away cover bolts натяжителя (are specified by arrows).
6. Get натяжитель from a forward cover.
7. Designate a link of a chain opposite to a dot label (are specified by arrows).
8. Turn away an asterisk bolt, keeping a cam-shaft a key for special лыски.
9. Remove a gear wheel of a drive of the distributor. Cautiously remove an asterisk (it is specified by an arrow) and a chain from a cam-shaft and leave them on the directing.

CAM-SHAFT OF FINAL VALVES

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At first remove a cam-shaft of final valves, preliminary having fixed a spring of an auxiliary gear wheel.
The prevention

Cam-shafts remove one after another, keeping their parallelism of a plane of a head of cylinders. Otherwise inflow damage on a head of cylinders which provides standard axial люфт a cam-shaft is possible.


2. For spring fixing turn a cam-shaft so that the technological aperture under an auxiliary bolt has been turned vertically upwards. Attach an auxiliary gear wheel to the main gear wheel in advance prepared bolt with carving М6 and length 16–20 mm.
3. Turn a cam-shaft of inlet valves so that labels (1) gear wheels were displaced on a corner 35 concerning a horizontal axis.
4. Displace a cam-shaft back, gradually and in regular intervals turn away bolts of a cover of necks of cam-shaft N1 (the sequence of removal of covers of basic necks of cam-shafts is specified by figures).
5. Cautiously turn away bolts of covers 2, 3, 5 and 7, in regular intervals releasing the left and right bolts. Bolts of covers 4 and 6 not to turn on.
6. Cautiously turn away bolts of covers 4 and 6, watching uniformity of a raising of a cam-shaft concerning a plane of a head of cylinders. If the cam-shaft is released with a warp turn bolts of covers 4 and 6, establish covers 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 and repeat procedure. Achieve parallel clearing of a cam-shaft.

CAM-SHAFT OF INLET VALVES

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Turn a cam-shaft of inlet valves so that labels (1) gear wheels were displaced on a corner 25 concerning a horizontal axis.
2. Displace a cam-shaft forward, gradually and in regular intervals turn away bolts of cover N1.
3. Cautiously turn away bolts of covers 3, 4, 6 and 7, in regular intervals releasing the left and right bolts. Bolts of covers 2 and 5 not to turn on.
4. Cautiously turn away bolts of covers 2 and 5, watching uniformity of a raising of a cam-shaft concerning a plane of a head of cylinders. If the cam-shaft is released with a warp turn bolts of covers 4 and 6, establish covers 1, 3, 4, 6 and 7 and repeat procedure. Achieve parallel clearing of a cam-shaft. Remove a cam-shaft of inlet valves.
5. Wipe from oil adjusting washers of pushers, put labels a marker and remove pushers and adjusting washers.
6. Store covers of basic necks, pushers and washers in that order in which these details have been established.
7. Clamp an inlet cam-shaft in a vice for шестигранную a neck. A key with two persistent pins turn an auxiliary gear wheel clockwise, then turn away an auxiliary bolt, securing the the main and auxiliary gear wheel, and cautiously weaken effort, giving the chance to an auxiliary gear wheel to turn counter-clockwise, to a spring outright release.
8. Take a lock ring of an auxiliary gear wheel.
9. Cнимите a spring washer (1), an auxiliary gear wheel (2) and a spring of an auxiliary gear wheel (3).

Check

Installation of covers of basic necks of cam-shafts

Numbers are put on covers of basic necks of cam-shafts and ориентационные arrows who should be directed towards a forward part of the engine.

Backlash definition in basic necks of cam-shafts

The backlash in basic necks of cam-shafts is defined on width crushed plastic калибровочной a wire.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Measure distance between the ends of a spring of an auxiliary gear wheel in a free condition and compare to the standard. If the distance differs from standard a spring replace.
2. Check up a condition of pushers. Presence having chopped off and deep development it is not supposed.
3. Check up presence on basic necks and cams of a cam-shaft of wear tracks – grooves, poles, наволакивания metal and overheat traces (the painted sites of bluish colour). Check up presence on each cam отслоения the tempered layer. Measure the size of each cam of a cam-shaft and compare to the standard. If the size at least one of cams less standard a cam-shaft замените.метки a marker also remove pushers and adjusting washers.
4. Measure diameter of basic necks of a cam-shaft and compare to the standard. If diameter at least one basic neck less standard a cam-shaft replace.
5. Check up backlashes in basic necks for each cam-shaft, having arrived as follows:

      – Clear basic necks of a cam-shaft and a cover of basic necks in solvent;
      – Cautiously lay a cam-shaft () in a head of the block of cylinders without pushers, adjusting washers and an auxiliary gear wheel. Oil presence on necks is not supposed;
      – Across each basic neck of a cam-shaft lay pieces plastic калибровочной a wire;
      – Establish covers of basic necks of cam-shafts so that arrows have been directed towards a forward part of the engine (fig. Installation of covers of basic necks of cam-shafts see);
      – Tighten bolts with the set moment turning each bolt on 1/4 turns at one time;

The prevention

Turn of a cam-shaft with the inserted plastic calibre is not supposed.


      – Turn away bolts and remove covers;
      – Compare width of the crushed wire (in the widest place) to a scale on packing (fig. backlash Definition in basic necks of cam-shafts see);
      – If the backlash at least in one of necks exceeds norm a cam-shaft and (or) a head of the block of cylinders are subject to replacement;
      – соскребите a nail or a credit card the plastic rests, thus do not scratch a basic neck or an internal surface of a cover.
6. At temporarily established covers of basic necks check up a backlash in gearing of gear wheels of cam-shafts. Keeping a key one of cam-shafts for шестигранную a neck, check up size of moving of a gear wheel of other cam-shaft. Result compare to the standard. If a backlash above norm both cam-shafts replace.

Installation

CAM-SHAFT OF INLET VALVES

Installation of a cam-shaft of inlet valves

 

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Grease and establish pushers and adjusting washers on former places, preliminary having greased молибденовой with greasing.
2. Grease молибденовой with greasing basic necks and cam-shaft cams. Grease a persistent part of a cam-shaft of inlet valves.
3. Establish a cam-shaft of inlet valves in a head of cylinders so that cams 1 and 4 have been turned downwards.
4. Displace a cam-shaft forward and establish covers of basic necks 2 and 5, observing numbering and orientation of arrows which should be directed towards a forward part of the engine.
5. Slightly tighten covers of basic necks 2 and 5.
6. Establish covers 3, 4, 6, 7 and, observing sequence, slightly tighten bolts of covers before contact with a head of cylinders.
7. Establish a cover 1 and in regular intervals tighten both bolts.
8. Tighten all bolts of covers with the set moment in some stages.

CAM-SHAFT OF FINAL VALVES

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Collect a cam-shaft of final valves with springs and an auxiliary gear wheel, fix all details a lock ring.
2. Establish pushers and adjusting washers on former places, preliminary having greased молибденовой with greasing.
3. Grease молибденовой with greasing basic necks and cam-shaft cams.
4. Combine labels on gear wheels of cam-shafts (1 – combination). These labels should be located on 180 concerning their position at removal of cam-shafts.
5. It is necessary to consider that the design timing the considered engine does not suppose connections with a tightness. Bolts of covers should be tightened in this position, then the cam-shaft should be turned back to establish in the position corresponding ВМТ in which contact surfaces adjoin in regular intervals, without obstacles from efforts of the springs operating on cams.
6. Turn a final cam-shaft on inlet and establish into place. Turn a cam-shaft in both parties to provide correct landing in necks.
7. Establish covers 4 and 6, observing numbering and orientation of arrows which should be directed towards a chain.
8. Slightly tighten covers 4 and 6.
9. Establish covers 2, 3, 5, 7 and, observing sequence, slightly tighten bolts of covers.
10. Establish a cover 1 and in regular intervals tighten both bolts.
11. Tighten all bolts of covers with the set moment in some stages.
12. Turn cam-shafts so that the auxiliary bolt has appeared above and turn out a bolt. Be convinced of smoothness of rotation of cam-shafts.
13. Expose cam-shafts so that position of labels corresponded ВМТ. Be convinced that pulley dredging коленвала is combined with division ВМТ of a scale.
14. Establish a chain with an asterisk, having checked up coincidence of labels put at dismantling. Tighten a bolt.
15. Establish натяжитель chains, having replaced a lining. Press on натяжитель, turn and tighten nuts.
16. Establish other details upside-down. Adjust backlashes in valves (subsection 2.29 see).
